Sal Salinero oil painting available – Anne McKee Art Auction

Anne McKee Artists Fund is offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own an exquisite piece of art. Available for auction is the work of one of Key West’s longtime iconic and beloved artists, Sal Salinero.  Sal had generously donated his art for support of Anne McKee since its inception and his partner continues this tradition.  We are honored to have one of his very few remaining original art works. As with all our auction items, the money goes to fund grants for furthering the creative endeavors of our local artists.

The painting, titled Still Life with Red Ribbon, is a beautifully rendered, large format oil on canvas 51” x 75’.  This work, rendered in stunning colors and magnificent detail, captures the spiritual sense of the perfection in nature as is typical of his body of work.  “Still Life with Red Ribbon” has a gallery value but will be available now for a price to appeal to all art lovers.  Bidding begins March 14 and ends March 28 at www.mckeefund.org.

Sal Salinero, 1941-2015, was a soldier, artist, gallery owner, and fourth generation conch; his family has resided in Key West for 150 years. But his local roots did not keep him from becoming internationally renowned and the winner of numerous art awards. Salinero originals, mostly depictions of the beauty and diversity of the tropics, can be found in many private, public, and corporate collections in the U.S. and abroad.
