REY ORTIZ, ASSISTANT BUILDING OFFICIAL, EARNS ICC MASTER CODE PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION

MONROE COUNTY, FLA – Rey Ortiz, Monroe County Building Department Assistant Building Official, received the International Code Council’s Master Code Professional designation, the highest Code Council certification. Ortiz joins the elite group of Master Code professionals worldwide that will benefit the building department and the community.

To earn the designation, Ortiz passed 10 core ICC exams plus several elective Code Council exams. Typical Master Code professionals hold 17 or more certifications; Ortiz holds 32 certifications, including a Master in Architecture, is a certified planner, and is a certified floodplain manager. The Master Code Professional designation requires additional continuing education to maintain active status.
