Reef Perkins Debuts “Deep Air”

The Florida Keys have long been known as a safe harbor for nonconformists, adventurers and ne’er-do-wells. On Saturday, June 18, from 6 to 8pm, one local character who embodies all of these traits and more, author Reef Perkins, will debut his latest book, “Deep Air” at Grand Vin, 1107 Duval Street.

In “Deep Air,” Perkins’ third book, a blow-up sex doll, gems and beer are catalysts for an outlandish misadventure rolled out in the author’s signature style.

In his writings, the author draws inspiration from his own diverse life adventures. “Key West is a target-rich environment for writers,”  said Perkins. I took a true story from my salvage days and with the help of a fruitful imagination concocted this Keys tale, best served with a cold drink, an umbrella and a beach chair.”

Michael Haskins, author of the Mick Murphy Key West Mystery series says, “If you enjoy Carl Hiaasen’s books, you’re going to love Perkins’ rendition of life in the Florida Keys.”

Copies of Perkins’ first two books, “Sex, Salvage & Secrets,” and “Screwed, Blu’d and Tatooed will also be available at the June 18 book debut and signing event. Refreshments available; tall tales are free. For more information contact: Roberta DePiero at 305-292-7963
