The Key West City Commission took some time out at last week’s meeting to praise the people who make the annual Holiday Parade one of the most popular local events.

Commissioners honored not only the winning Holiday Parade entries, but proclaimed Lenny and Joe day in honor of Joe Mather and Lenny Whitley who have helped pull the parade together for the past 22 years!

The Sugarloaf Sharkette Cheerleaders were on hand to accept the Mayor’s Cup. The We’re Not All There Society was awarded the Vice Mayor’s Cup. The Commissioners’ Cup went to the Monroe County Tax Collector’s office and the Key West High School Band earned honorable mention.
