‘Real Women Do Drag 2019’, to benefit The Royal Campaign of FANTASY FEST and AH

‘Real Women Do Drag’, a collaboration between the Key West Business Guild, AQUA nightclub and A.H. of  Monroe County, Inc. (AH) will produce the first All-Candidate event of The Royal Campaign FANTASY FEST 2019 since Kickoff.

On Friday night, September 6th, 2015 Fantasy Fest Queen Jodyrae Campbell will present the Key West Womenfest version of her successful ‘Real Men Do Drag’.

The potential King of Swing, Queen of Soul and the Dukettes will be in attendance to cheer on the gender-bend — for Queen, Karen Frank-Noll and Val Edgington; for King, Ryan Acker And Kevin ‘Woody’ Wood.

The competition, from 6 – 8 p.m. at AQUA, 711 Duval, will be hosted by Elle Taylor and emceed by Laurie Thibaud.

Reserved seating in various spaces at AQUA is $25; standing room the night of the event will be $10 (bar seating will be first-come, first-served). Advance ticketing is available at www.tinyurl.com/realwomendodrag2019/

Tips and other proceeds will be equally divided among all represented Candidates.

“We have 4 unique individuals ‘harmonizing’ this year for ‘Rock and Royalty’,” noted AH Executive Director Scott Pridgen. “Each is empathetic and courageous…and each have a unique story, in their own casual words, to tell the public about our mission of Health and Housing for everyone in the Keys.”

A series of frenzied, frisky, feisty and always fabulous series of fundraising events Keys-wide have been innovated by the Candidates and a corps of volunteers to raise the most money and ascend to the Coronation throne at the Lofton ‘Coffee’ Butler Amphitheater at Truman Waterfront on Friday, October 18th, including:

A weekly ‘Aqua Idol’ competition at Aqua nightclub, 711 Duval, through October 15th; the much-loved Sunday BINGO upstairs at the 801 Bourbon Bar, hosted by QMitch and equally rewarding all Candidates, through October 13th; the 7th Annual Red Shirt Run, donated annually by Theme Runs owner Beth Moyes, on Saturday morning, October 5th; and the 4th Annual Royal Retrospective, at The Custom House, 281 Front Street, on Thursday, October 17th.
