Randy Becker, Candidate for Mayor, Issues Position Papers

Challenges other candidates to do the same

Randy Becker, candidate for Mayor of Key West, has issued Position Papers on key areas of concern for the City of Key West and its residents. In each of them he outlines the inherent principles, guiding values, and engaging vision that will inform him as Mayor. Specific agendas for commitment, support, and action are included.

His Position Papers address:

“Our city is facing a number of challenges,” Becker said, “that expensive building projects will not solve. It is more about attitude and vision. We need our leaders to be thoughtful, forthright, and courageous in meeting those challenges.”

Becker added, “I think it is incumbent on all of the candidates for Mayor to be explicit not only as to what they see as the main issues facing our community, but equally explicit about what their values and actions would be as Mayor. Therefore, I call on Craig Cates and Ed Krane to make public their values and vision for our city.”

“When we think of Key West in ten or twenty years, what do we hope will be true? We will never get to a desired future without that vision,” Becker emphasized
