In this vintage 1960s print ad, models showcase fashions by Lilly Pulitzer, whose Florida home-grown and free-spirited fashions reached stellar heights of popularity in large part due to the talents of the late Key West artist Suzie dePoo. On Saturday, March 27, Lilly fans can shop the brand’s latest releases, with 10% of all sales proceeds benefiting A Positive Step of Monroe County’s summer youth employment program.
Pulitzer winning event to benefit A Positive Step of Monroe County
On Saturday, March 27, from 10:00am to 6:00pm, the Lilly Pulitzer shop at 600 Front Street in Key West will donate 10% of all sales to A Positive Step of Monroe County to help fund the organization’s 2021 Idle Hands Summer Youth Employment program.
The Southernmost island and the Lilly Pulitzer brand share a special historic relationship, as the late, beloved Key West artist and sculptor Suzie dePoo was staff designer for Key West Hand Print Fabrics and created many of the original fabric art designs that became Lilly Pulitzer classics. A Positive Step of Monroe County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been serving Monroe County’s highest risk kids and their families since 1999. Since 2010, the organization has partnered with the City of Key West to provide summer jobs for Key West High School students through its Idle Hands Summer Youth Employment Program.
