Public Health Promoted at Health Fair and upcoming Safety Days
The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County staffers promoted various public health topics at last week’s Monroe County Board of County Commissioners Health Fair. Approximately 380 Monroe County employees and spouses at the Key West BOCC Health Fair at Marriott Beachside received information and free resources. Topics that the health department promoted included water safety, tobacco cessation, nutrition, and bike safety. Hepatitis A, tetanus, and pneumonia vaccines were also provided. The department vaccinated 91 individuals at the Key West event.
Look for the health department at the upcoming Safety Day Events at the Key West Home Depot (2811 N Roosevelt Blvd) and Marathon Home Depot (4555 Overseas Hwy) from 9AM to 12PM this Saturday, October 5. The department will be providing vaccines, including the new flu shot as well as free helmets.
