Police: Truck with no plates leads to multiple charges

WILLISTON, Vt. (AP) — Police in Vermont say a truck driver stopped for failure to display a license plate is a wanted on an armed robbery charge in Florida.

Police say 30-year-old Tramaine Beard, of Miami, Florida, was stopped just after midnight Saturday morning in Williston.

During the commercial vehicle inspection, Williston police say they discovered that Tramaine was using his brother’s commercial driver’s license and that there was an active warrant out for him on the robbery charge.

Authorities say he was taken into custody and held without bail on the Florida warrant, as well as for pending charges for identity theft and giving false information to police.

Tramaine is scheduled to appear in Chittenden Superior Court on Monday. It was not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
