Parking in Roadway Leads to DUI and Drug Charges
A Key West police officer came upon a vehicle partially on the sidewalk and partially in the roadway in front of Pet Supermarket last Thursday just before midnight. The driver, Kyle Kelley, 31, of New Port Richey, Florida, was slumped over the wheel.
A DUI investigation led to Kelley’s arrest, and an inventory of his vehicle incident to arrest led to the discovery of crystal methamphetamine, hundreds of scheduled prescription pills, a large quantity of small baggies commonly used in narcotics sales, as well as other indicators and evidence of illicit narcotics sales.
Kelley was arrested on numerous charges including possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, DUI, and possession of methamphetamine. Further investigation is pending and there is a possibility more charges may be added. Kelley is currently lodged at the Monroe County Detention Center where he awaits his future court proceedings.
