Ongoing Criminal Investigations in the Florida Keys

By KONK Life Staff Writer

The Florida Keys are currently the focus of two separate criminal investigations that have drawn significant attention from both local authorities and the public.

In Marathon, the body of 84-year-old Tony Vescolani from Lansing, Michigan, was discovered floating near a boat slip on April 18. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported that there are no immediate signs of foul play, but an autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death. Vescolani’s presence in the area and the circumstances leading up to his death remain under investigation.

Meanwhile, in Key Largo, 33-year-old Dylan Lamb, a local kayak tour guide, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, kidnapping, evidence tampering, and solicitation of prostitution. Authorities allege that Lamb met 43-year-old Nadyne Marie Tillman through an escort website and arranged to meet her at the Amoray Dive Resort. After an altercation, Lamb is accused of fatally beating Tillman and concealing her body in a closet within the hotel room. Disturbingly, another guest reportedly stayed in the same room, unaware of the concealed body, before it was discovered by police responding to a missing person report filed by Tillman’s family.

These incidents have raised concerns among residents and visitors about safety and the importance of vigilance. Local law enforcement agencies continue to investigate both cases, urging anyone with information to come forward. The community awaits further details as the investigations progress.
