One Island One Book

The Key West Library presents Pulitzer Prize-winner Gilbert King as part of their “One Island, One Book” program at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the library, 700 Fleming St. Mr. King will be discussing his latest historical Florida true-crime work, “Beneath a Ruthless Sun:  A True Story of Violence, Race, and Justice Lost and Found.” You can reserve a copy to borrow from the library now or stop in and enter our drawing for a possible free copy of the book to be given away on April 28.  For more information contact the library at 305-292-3595.

King’s previous book, “Devil in the Grove: Thurgood Marshall, the Groveland Boys, and the Dawn of a New America,” won the Pulitzer Prize for Nonfiction in 2013. He has written about the Supreme Court and the death penalty for the New York Times and the Washington Post. He lives in Brooklyn.
