NOW IS THE TIME TO PICK UP HURRICANE RE-ENTRY DECAL STICKERS

MONROE COUNTY, FL – If you haven’t already obtained a re-entry windshield decal sticker for your vehicle, now is the time to do so before there is a threat of a storm. If you already have a re-entry sticker, they do not expire.

Re-entry checkpoints may become necessary if there is serious devastation and public safety risks. A re-entry decal will help move you through the checkpoint, quickly. Those who don’t obtain them in advance will be detoured to a location outside the checkpoint to provide proof of residence or property ownership in the Keys before re-entering.

Stickers can be obtained for each registered vehicle by providing proof of residency or property ownership in the Keys by showing a Florida driver’s license with a local address, utility bill, rental agreement, or tax bill. The stickers are color-coded for possible zone-by-zone re-entry.

Stickers are available at all Monroe County Sheriff’s Office substations, the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters building on Stock Island, Department of Motor Vehicle/Driver License Service Centers in the Keys, Key West City Hall, Islamorada Administrative Center, and the Ocean Reef Public Safety Communications Center. The stickers must be obtained before an evacuation goes into effect.
