National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day

[Monroe County, Fla.] — (NLAAD) is observed each year on October 15 to raise awareness about the impact of HIV on the Latinx community in the United States.

  • 1 in 6 Hispanics/Latinos with HIV are unaware they have it. People who do not know they have HIV cannot take advantage of HIV care and treatment and may unknowingly transmit HIV to others.
  • Know Your HIV Status. Testing is available at the Monroe County DOH and thru our community providers. In-Home Self-Testing Kits are also available.
