National COVID-19 information added to Sheriff’s Office mobile phone app

Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay announced a major upgrade to the Monroe County Sheriff’s App on Wednesday, which is now offering national Center for Disease Control COVID-19 alerts.

The app and the upgrade are available free for Android and Apple. The upgraded app is an innovative response to help the public and local businesses stay current on national COVID-19 news.

The new COVID-19 function was done by our app developer and includes only national CDC news. For the latest local COVID-19 news, go to www.monroecountyem.com/covid-19

  • The new COVID-19 feature is on the app menu.
  • To get the CDC COVID-19 alerts, go to Settings, then Notifications to register for the CDC Alerts.

The new upgrade also includes U.S. 1 crash/traffic/emergency local alerts, submit a tip function, inmate search, links to the Sheriff’s Office social media/press releases, live calls and sex offender search.
