Motorist arrested for counterfeit tags
A 43-year-old Royal Palm Beach, Florida man was arrested Sunday driving an unregistered vehicle with fake tags.
Kenneth James Mc Clendon was charged with driving an unregistered vehicle and counterfeiting/forgery of a license plate tag.
Mc Clendon was stopped on U.S. 1 near Mile Marker 98 at approximately 3 p.m. in a Ford sedan when the tag came back for a different vehicle. Close inspection of the tag revealed it looked fraudulent.
Mc Clendon admitted the tag was fake and was taken to jail.

Suspected narcotics found on beach
A beachgoer picking up trash on Coral Road in Islamorada found several packages of suspected drugs at approximately 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
The beachgoer called the Sheriff’s Office and the packages were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
