Mote hosts Toys for Tours on Tuesday, December 7th

Mote Marine Laboratory’s Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research and Restoration (24244 Overseas Hwy) is set to once again open up for public tours of it’s facility for a special community cause, Toys for Tots.  On Tuesday, December 7th from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Mote will provide behind-the-scenes tours at the top of every hour for a donation of a toy for our (local) Florida Keys Toys for Tots program.  For a one toy, you and your family & friends can get a glimpse into the largest coral restoration nursery in North America, as well as learn about the science-based restoration techniques led by the world-renowned scientists, that are part of the most successful coral restoration team in Florida.  For this day only, tours will begin at 9 a.m. and run every hour, with the last tour starting at 4 p.m.  No reservation is required and (besides the toy donation) the tour is free to the public.  Please join us for this special event to help such a worthy cause.  For more information, call 305-745-2729 x700.
