Mosquito Control Breaks Ground On Lower Keys Operations Facility

May 23, 2017 – Florida Keys Mosquito Control District [FKMCD] broke ground this morning on the Lower Keys Operational Facility on Big Coppitt.

The facility, which is located at 18 Aquamarine Drive, includes a chemical storage and maintenance facility. FKMCD still needs to apply for another permit for a trailer complex that will house administrative offices and a small mosquito identification lab.

FKMCD has until the end of March 2018 to vacate their current location at 5224 College Road. The project is currently on track to have the new Lower Keys Operational Facility completed in time to meet the deadline.
