More information on electrocution death

A 54 year old Tavernier man died from electrocution Saturday morning.

Roger Dinneen, an employee of Wahoo’s Restaurant, was reportedly working on an electronic sign at the business when he was electrocuted. A co-worker who was with him said they were working on the sign when Dinneen first asked him to turn the electricity back on to the sign so he could see which lights were not working; Dinneen then reportedly asked him to go get a volt meter for him. When he returned with the volt meter, he saw that Dinneen was being electrocuted. He said he ran to turn off the electricity and returned to find Dinneen unconscious on the ground.

Dinneen was taken to Mariner’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit has been assigned to investigate.
