MONROE COUNTY TRANSFER STATIONS WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY, TRASH COLLECTION WILL BE DELAYED KEYSWIDE BY A DAY THROUGH SATURDAY

MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County Transfer Stations will be closed on Monday, Nov. 9 due to Tropical Storm Eta. Trash collection will be delayed by a day this week throughout the Florida Keys, as long as conditions allow for trash collection to resume on Tuesday.

WHAT THIS MEANS:

If your normally scheduled collection day is Monday, it will now be Tuesday, if your normally scheduled pick up day is Tuesday, it will now be Wednesday and so on. This will continue through Saturday, Nov. 14, or when the regular schedule can resume.

Residents with questions regarding pickup days they should contact their local hauler:

  • Keys Sanitary: 305-451-2025
  • Marathon Garbage: 305-743-5165
  • Waste Management: 305-296-8297

Do not place household garbage, recycling, or yard waste along the curbside before Tuesday. Please secure all trashcans that are not already secured. Please also secure all yard debris, and décor, including toys, sports equipment, and lawn furniture by this evening.

“The winds are expected to start picking up soon, so please be responsible with your garbage and other items that can litter our neighborhoods and the environment,” said Monroe County Solid Waste Director Cheryl Sullivan.
