Monroe County State Attorney Office Announces Successful Prosecution of Aaron Steven Rishel
The Monroe County State Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce the successful prosecution of Aaron Steven Rishel. Rishel pleaded no-contest to ten counts of possession of child pornography and exploitation of a minor. He was adjudicated guilty on all counts and sentenced by Judge Mark Jones to five years in state prison, followed by ten years of sex offender probation. Additionally, Rishel has been ordered to pay court costs and fines.
The charges resulted from an extensive investigation led by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Department of Homeland Security. The investigation uncovered Rishel’s extensive involvement in the possession and distribution of explicit materials involving minors. Through meticulous digital forensics and coordinated efforts, law enforcement was able to compile substantial evidence, leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of Rishel.
