MONROE COUNTY SCHOOLS OFFICIALS TO TOUR GERALD ADAMS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR FINAL TIME BEFORE COMPLETION

WHAT: School board members and administrators plan to discuss the MCSD Student Handbook, work with the consulting firm Studer Group on district strategic planning, and updates to district athletic facilities. Board members will also hear reports about the district’s Local Education Agencies (LEAs) profile and the Student Progression Plan.

Officials will also visit the Gerald Adams Elementary School construction site.

Superintendent Mark Porter said work on GAE is scheduled to be completed before the New Year. ”This project is on-track for its completion date in late fall. Students and staff will be able to move in to their buildings once they return from the winter break. Everyone is eager to settle into the new school, spread out, and experience innovative learning spaces. Administrators and teachers have done a remarkable job of making the transition from old to new an easy and enjoyable one for students.”

The board will vote to approve the district’s five year work plan, an option for repairs for Rex Weech Field’s infield project, and a construction contract for athletic field improvements for the Key West High School Backyard.
