Students who are accepted will receive 50 percent off to study abroad this summer on one of the Experiment’s programs around the globe. The application deadline is on January 15, 2025
This marks the seventh year The Experiment has offered an exclusive scholarship for Monroe County, offering a range of scholarships and financial aid to recipients. Last summer 19 students from The Keys participated including those enrolled through Take Stock in Children and received full scholarships with funding provided by the Monroe County Educational Foundation and The Experiment. The Experiment had one of its largest cohorts from Monroe County last summer.
“Participating in an Experiment program has been a transformational experience for so many students in Monroe County, providing an opportunity for them to be immersed in another culture and learn what it means to be a young leader in today’s global world, said Christina Thomas, divisional vice president of The Experiment in International Living and youth exchanges at World Learning.
“It also helps with college applications and many students even identify their future fields of study. Additionally, we have programs offering academic credit, so students can earn college credit before beginning college or university. At our re-entry workshop in Key West this September, students mentioned building college and career ready skills on our programs such as leadership, conflict resolution, and problem solving.”
