Four groups of refugees arrive in the United States for Christmas.

We only have minimal information available. More information should be obtained from Customs and Border Protection.

4:15 a.m. in the parking lot of Walgreen’s Drug Store, 15 Cuban migrants were reported, wet but in good condition. Deputies responded; Customs and Border Protection was notified and responded as well, taking them into their custody.

9:15 a.m. at the 75 mile marker on Lower Matecumbe Key. Called in by a person who lives in the area. First reported to be on a rowboat with a sail, offshore of Sea Oats Beach. Information is sketchy, but it appears 17 – 23 migrants made it to shore. One or more may have been dehydrated or otherwise had minor injuries. All were taken into custody by Customs and Border Protection.
