Man injured by chainsaw airlifted in Upper Keys

A 25-year-old Homestead man who was injured when a chainsaw cut his face — possibly sustaining eye injuries — was airlifted in Tavernier Friday afternoon.

The man was injured on the 100 block of Harbor Drive in Plantation Key.

He was taken to Coral Shores High School where he was loaded into a Trauma Star helicopter for transport to a Miami hospital.

The man was conscious at the time the 911 Communications Specialists were notified about 2:30 p.m.
