Man dies in snorkel-related incident

A 65-year-old Houston, Texas man died at Lower Keys Medical Center On Stock Island Tuesday following a snorkeling-related incident off Key West, Florida.  

Beau Alan Follis was snorkeling with Fury Watersports when he reportedly lost consciousness. CPR was performed and the U.S. Coast Guard brought Follis to shore to waiting paramedics.

Follis was pronounced dead at the hospital at approximately 8:16 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office has made notification of next-of-kin.

Foul play is not expected to be a factor in the incident.

Autopsy results are pending.
