Man arrested on drug charges

A 33-year-old Miami-Dade County man was arrested on a litany of drug possession charges following a traffic stop.

Erick Ramos was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of prescription pills without a prescription.

Deputy Zach Gilroy was on patrol near Mile Marker 47 when he observed a pickup truck towing a boat and trailer. The boat trailer did not have a license plate. He stopped the truck and identified the driver and sole occupant as Ramos.

Deputy Gilroy soon found the trailer was unregistered and he informed Ramos both the boat and trailer would have to be towed for that reason.

Ramos gave Gilroy and arriving backup Deputies consent to search his truck and the boat.

The following were found inside the truck:

  • 6.3 grams of cocaine
  • .3 grams of methamphetamine
  • 2.8 grams of marijuana
  • 5 Adderall pills
  • 1 vape pen containing marijuana oil
  • Pipes and assorted drug paraphernalia

Ramos was taken to jail.
