Man arrested in fraud case  

A 33-year-old Bay Point, Florida man was arrested Tuesday for stealing nearly $1,000 in a credit card/cell phone fraud case.

Louis Anthony Hawks was charged with identity theft, theft, and dealing in stolen property.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation showed Hawks stole the victim’s cell phone and used the credit card information therein to make multiple purchases at businesses in Monroe County.

Man cited for undersized fish

A 31-year-old Onalaska, Wisconsin man was given a mandatory notice to appear in court citation Tuesday for possessing an undersized lane snapper.

Islamorada Marine Deputy Nelson Sanchez was on patrol near Mile Marker 78 at approximately 2:43 p.m. when he observed Andrew Edward Konetchy fishing.

A resource check revealed Konetchy was fishing using an undersized lane snapper as bait.

Man arrested for littering/leaving garbage

A 68-year-old Marathon, Florida man was arrested Tuesday for leaving trash behind a business.

Michael Edward Girardin was charged with illegal dumping.

The Sheriff’s Office observed a large amount of empty alcoholic beverage containers and other miscellaneous trash scattered behind the Walgreens pharmacy at 10870 Overseas Highway.

Girardin had also been previously trespassed from the property. He was taken to jail.
