Man arrested for rock toss in road rage incident

A 41-year-old Cudjoe Key man was arrested Saturday night after throwing a rock at a sport utility vehicle during a road rage incident.

Daniel Liska was charged with criminal mischief and shooting into or throwing deadly missiles into dwellings, public or private buildings, occupied or not occupied, vessels, aircraft, buses, railroad cars, streetcars or other vehicles.

The incident occurred shortly after 9  p.m. on U.S. 1 near Mile Marker 20. The victims in the SUV told Deputy Timothy Oggeri they were attempting to pass a white minivan when the driver, later identified as Liska, began maneuvering the van in order to prevent them from passing. The suspect then threw a rock out of the van that struck and broke window glass on the SUV, causing minor cuts and scratches to one of the three people inside the SUV.

Witnesses in another vehicle gave a similar account of what happened.

Liska was later stopped on U.S. 1 and arrested.
