Local Volunteers Will Go Bald with a Goal to Raise $5,000

What: Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant in Key West will host a St. Baldrick’s Foundation signature head-shaving event to raise funds for lifesaving childhood cancer research. With a goal of raising $5,000, Lucy’s will host its second St. Baldrick’s Block Party on St. Patrick’s Day. The event will be complete with face painting, food and drink specials, live entertainment, and a signature head-shaving event. To donate, volunteer or shave your head, click here.

Why: One in five children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive. Those who do survive often suffer long-term effects from treatment too harsh for their developing bodies.
