Lower Keys Medical Center Welcomes Julie Banker as Chief Nursing Officer

Julie Banker, RN has joined Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West, Florida as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). She moved to Key West from the west coast of Florida where she was the CNO at Lehigh Regional Medical Center in Lehigh Acres, Florida.

Banker brings 27 years of nursing experience to Key West. She holds an Associate in Science degree in Nursing from the Community College of Rhode Island in Warwick, Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island. She went on to attain her Master of Science degree in Nursing with a nursing leadership focus from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

As the CNO, Banker oversees the hospital’s nursing departments which include the emergency room, surgical services and inpatient units. Her leadership focus is to mentor, team build and increase communication among nurses and providers at all levels to support nursing staff in their work to provide safe and quality care to patients.
