LOWER KEYS MEDICAL CENTER RECOGNIZES AWARD WINNERS, MILESTONE YEARS OF SERVICE

Key West, FL – March 4, 2021 – On February 24, 2021, Lower Keys Medical Center recognized its 2020 Outstanding Service Award recipients and employees celebrating milestone years of service.

Marie Roselyne Pervil, Certified Nursing Assistant, was named the 2020 Employee of the Year. David Clay, CEO, read comments from Roselyne’s colleagues, which recognized her for cheerful attitude, positivity, compassionate care of patients, and proactive approach to her job. “Each and every day, Roselyne shows up to work in the best mood and she spreads her positivity to the staff and patients. There are not enough words to describe what an exceptional employee she is,” noted co-workers. She helps provide training to new employees and helps to educate existing and seasoned staff members such as nurses and techs. She is a leader among the staff and serves as a liaison between leadership and fellow techs. Roselyne is a dedicated employee and church member and a devoted mother and wife. Clay concluded, “When recognized for going above and beyond in her role, Roselyne is humble and often responds, ‘I am just doing my job.’ It is clear to all of us that it is not just a job, it is her passion and her life.”

Gina Sellers, Executive Assistant and Contract Administrator, Administration, received the Frank Houtman award, named for a beloved, long-time volunteer at the hospital. Frank had been quoted once as saying he “looks for people who shine.” Colleagues recognized Gina for being “helpful and kind, but also a straight shooter. She listens with her heart and has true compassion. She has a big heart.” Clay noted that when the pandemic began, Gina made decals and placed them throughout the hospital, honoring the staff and medical staff as healthcare heroes. She also ordered lawn signs with the same message to help keep the staff going through challenging times. She has been an employee at the hospital for almost 30 years. Gina is dedicated to her community, family, grandson, daughter, husband, and her dogs.

Mary Jackson, RN, Director of Risk Management, Facility Compliance Officer, and Patient Advocate was recognized as the Non-Clinical Director of the Year for 2020. Clay read, “Mary has integrity and leadership skills that people respond to. Her positivity and calming ways can de-escalate any situation. She is an asset to the hospital in every aspect.” Mary has been involved in many community and hospital events, including hospital volunteer activities, Safety Committee, Safety Coach program, Relay for Life, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and Take Stock in Children.
