Lower Keys man cited for undersized lobster

A 45-year-old Summerland Key man was given a mandatory notice to appear in court citation on Wednesday for possessing three undersized lobsters.

Lower Keys Marine Deputy Ed Swogger was on patrol Oceanside of Big Pine Key at approximately 5:44 p.m. when he observed a boat anchored with four people lobstering. All four entered the Pathfinder vessel. It began to move underway with the dive flag still extended above the T-top. Deputy Swogger stopped the vessel for the infraction.

Deputy Swogger found three undersized lobsters in the vessel. Matthew Mark Roy stated he caught all three.

The other three people aboard were not cited.
