LIFETIME FITNESS Invites 64 Yr Young HIV+ Brain Cancer Survivor & MIAMI BEACH Wife To Run LIFETIME Miami Marathon

PROOF POSITIVE THAT PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV & BRAIN CANCER CAN REVERSE THEIR AGING PROCESS… Back in 2012 the Miami Herald printed a front page story in the Tropical Life Section stating Richard Brodsky’s fastest post cancer marathon was 04:27:15. Since 2012, Brodsky has run 9 faster marathons. NBC also featured Jodi and Richard Brodsky as one of the 25,000 participants for the 2013 Miami Marathon, view here.

MIAMI / KENYA / NOVA SCOTIA / JERUSALEM / LONG ISLAND… Richard Brodsky is HIV+ since 1997, a brain cancer survivor since 2002 and a marathon runner for life. He ran his fastest marathon in NOVA SCOTIA since his terminal cancer diagnosis on July 24, 2016 finishing in 03:53:30. Says Richard, “my wife Jodi Brodsky (formerly Jodi Slansky) is the fastest Jewish marathon runner in the world. After all, she did win the 2016 MIAMI and JERUSALEM Marathon, both cities boast large Jewish populations. To be fair, she placed first in her age group & won NIKE’s coveted title as its first MVP of the year for NIKE’s Flatiron Manhattan Running Store as well as its first Pacer of the Year for the NIKE Run Club in Manhattan. Richard Brodsky also ran the 2016 Jerusalem Marathon and raised $52,000 for Emunah Bet Elazraki Children’s Home in Netanya, Israel.

MIAMI / AIDS / CANCER… Jodi and Richard Brodsky both ran the 2016 Miami Marathon finishing in respective times of 4:11:07 and 4:17:06, their fastest Miami times and they have been running Miami since 2006. Brodsky’s greatest wish is for government, society and people to realize that people living with so-called fatal illnesses can lead productive lives if they lead a healthy lifestyle and have access to doctors and medicine. In Africa, this wish also requires eliminating the AIDS stigma and providing more AIDS testing, free education through high school, an adequate supply of nutritious food, clean drinking water, and reducing and/or eliminating malaria, tuberculosis and poverty.

Commitment to the 40,000,000+ people who have died from AIDS & brain cancer, we all support each other in our own way. I must have received 100+ comments along the marathon route giving me a thumbs-up, a touch on my shoulder, and/or a thank you. To the citizens of Miami + the global community of runners representing 80 countries at the marathon—thank you for your generous outpouring of acceptance, support & encouragement.

KENYA… The Richard M. Brodsky Foundation sponsored its 11th annual 2016 World AIDS Day, World AIDS Marathon in Kisumu, Kenya. 300 runners participated in the marathon, half marathon and 4k relay run. 838 Kenyan orphans dined & danced, and 209 orphans were examined & treated by doctors & nurses from NY & Ohio at 4 festive orphan dinner dances on the 4 days leading up to the marathon. LONG ISLAND… The Brodsky Foundation sponsors the only AIDS run or walk on Long Island. The 10th annual 5K AIDS Cancer Run Walk will be held in Baldwin Park on June 11th, 2017, www.5kaidscancer.com . Registration will be open in early March. No charge for people living with HIV or cancer.

MIAMI / BOSTON… I had to cut 04:56 minutes when I ran the July 24 NOVA SCOTIA Marathon to qualify to run the 2017 BOSTON marathon. The odds were clearly not in my favor, but knowing that my goal was to give hope to others living with HIV and brain cancer leveled the playing field. I did cut 06:26 minutes but since there were too many fast runners in my age group, the qualifying time for my age group changed and I missed qualifying by 39 seconds.

To run 2018 BOSTON, I’ll be 65 and I need to finish in four hours ten minutes. After running marathons since my late 20s, here’s hoping I can cut 07:06 minutes from my fastest Miami time. I still believe that people, even those living with HIV and cancer, can reverse their aging process, even for just for a decade or two by leading an upbeat, healthy lifestyle. Thank you on behalf of everyone living with HIV & cancer + all the children on Long Island who received $74,000 in toys, cash + clothing from the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation in 2016.
