LETTER TO THE EDITOR / KAKISTOCRACY
By Roger C. Kostmayer
Nothing is more telling about a leader than the competence, character and past performance of those he or she selects for critical responsibilities.
President Abe Lincoln is the best example because he, at the most perilous times, selected a “band of (his) rivals”. Instead of friends and sycophants he selected the most qualified and independent candidates. “Honest Abe” wanted the government described in the Constitution, a government of the people, by the people and for the people. He put the country and unity before everything; Trump, on the other hand, is the opposite in every way – choosing ONLY sycophants, greed and undemocratic power.
