Letter to the Editor / Flexible Funding is a No-Brainer

By Marge Holtz

More money for school operations is a no-brainer decision on the March 17 ballot.  Increased funding for teachers’ salaries, classroom materials, school nurses without increased taxes?  Of course we want that for our schools.

The flexibility to transfer funds from the school district capital account to the operations account is crucial to school operations in this high-cost part of paradise.  Monroe County has voted to support this since 2004 and is asking voters to approve continuing the practice for four more years.

It really is a no-brainer.

Vote YES for flexible funding on the March 17 ballot.
