Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony

In a memorial service Friday, law enforcement, the military and the community came together in Bayview Park to honor the brave men and women of law enforcement who have fallen in the line of duty.

Hosted by the Key West Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the ceremony includes a traditional laying of the wreath and a 21-gun salute.

Nationally, 135 officers were killed in the line of duty in 2017. In Florida, ten officers were killed. Monroe County did not lose an officer in 2017.
