KWHS social media incident

KEY WEST, Fla. – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has informed the District of an incident involving teens’ use of Snapchat from Key West High School that has been investigated and cleared. District officials have been working together to investigate and assess the situation with MCSO officials and will continue to do so. Detectives say they have found no credible threat from the circulated Snapchat post. The District will continue its investigation into the conduct of the three students involved, and will impose discipline in accordance with applicable policies. This appears to be yet another unfortunate example of students exercising poor judgement in their use of social media. The District will continue its efforts to educate students and parents on this important issue.
