Keys Strong and Good360 Donating New Furniture To 48 Families Devastated by Hurricane Irma

Thanks to the Generous Support of Rooms To Go

 

What: Fifty families devastated by Hurricane Irma will receive new furniture donated by Rooms to Go. Many of those families will be at the event to pick out furniture at a warehouse converted into a showroom for the event. Media also will be able to go to a few of the those families’ homes (which are also in Marathon) to see the distribution of the furniture. Those families include a 78-year-old female Veteran and her grown daughter and a family with two small children, aged 3 and 4.

When: Aug. 10, 2018, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Royal Furniture Warehouse, 1757 Overseas Highway, Marathon, FL

Who: Luncheon and press conference is hosted by Keys Strong and Good360 executives and volunteers along with welcoming remarks from Florida Keys community leaders including Monroe County Mayor and District 4 Commissioner David Rice, Marathon Mayor Michelle Coldiron, Layton Vice-Mayor Bruce Halle and Sarah Craven, District Aide for Florida House Representative Holly Raschein.

Leto, who has been serving the Florida Keys community providing shelter and social services to families for over 20 years through her “Samuel’s House Foundation”, was recently inducted by Florida Governor, Rick Scott in 2016 into the Florida “The Florida Women’s Hall of Fame” for her continuing work with the homeless.
