Key West Tropical Forest Call for Board of Directors Applications
KEY WEST, Florida Keys – The Key West Botanical Garden Society, a 501 (c)3 non-profit corporation, is recruiting for 5 seats on its Board of Directors for the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden. The Garden is an endangered ecosystem and is the only frost-free tropical humid forest and botanical garden in the continental United States.
Applications are now open for consideration with two-year terms starting in January, 2020. The Board specifically seeks a Treasurer/Bookkeeper. Other areas of expertise that are particularly relevant to the board include, but are not limited to: Accounting, Law, IT, Education, Engineering, Public Relations and Fundraising. We need you to serve – to share your expertise, and contribute. Board responsibilities include monthly board meetings and participation in committee work.
The Key West Botanical Garden Society was formed in 1988 taking over stewardship of the Garden which had been created in 1935 through WPA funding. The Garden’s mission is to preserve, develop, expand and maintain the historic Garden as an arboretum, botanical garden, wildlife refuge and educational center.
