Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden will offer free admission to military personnel and their families this summer

Key West, Florida – May 16, 2021 – Today, The Key West Botanical Garden Society announces it will honor our nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families this summer with free admission.  For 11 years the Garden has participated in the Blue Star Museums program, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and museums nationwide.

The Garden will continue to offer the free admission program through Monday, September 6, 2021, Labor Day.  This program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard as well as members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card for entrance

Rich in biodiversity, the 15-acre garden features two wetland habitats, national and state champion trees, two 1.5-acre butterfly habitats, seasonal flowers, a waterfall wall of tropical plants and two of the last remaining natural freshwater ponds in the Florida Keys.  There are 12 self-guided tours which include a Cuban Palm tour and a collection of 9 Cuban Chugs.
