Key West Man Arrested for Reckless Driving

Key West Police on Wednesday arrested Vincent Scardina, 29, on two reckless driving counts resulting from a September 18th motorcycle crash in Old Town that left his passenger critically injured.

The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on Passover Lane, near the Key West Cemetery. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing Scardina and a female passenger traveling at a high rate of speed before he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed. His passenger, Monroe County Finance Director Tina Boan was airlift to Ryder Trauma Center. Scardina was treated at the hospital and released.

Scardina faces one felony charge of reckless driving that resulted in bodily harm and a misdemeanor reckless driving charge as well as several criminal traffic citations. He is being held at the Monroe County Detention Center on $30,000 bond.
