Key West Bicentennial Gala March25th

Key West, Florida, March 1, 2022 – The Oldest House Museum and Garden is proud to be the headquarters for all things bicentennial. On March 25th following the time capsule ceremony taking place at Mallory Square and the parade, Old Island Restoration Foundation will  host an exclusive limited ticketed Bicentennial Gala event that will be held from 6-9pm as we celebrate 200 years of Key West, and it’s rich history.

The three hour gala will feature  VIP guest speakers, a once in a lifetime special artifacts exhibit from different museums throughout the keys, including artifacts that were found at the Oldest House garden during our recent exploratory dig performed in conjunction with the University of Miami . With a sense of nostalgia you will feel like you’ve taken a step back in time as you enjoy the night sky, period and modern music, in the newly renovated garden.

About Old Island Restoration Foundation:

Old Island Restoration Foundation was founded in 1960 to stop the destruction of old town and to promote the preservation and restoration of historically significant buildings. During the 1950’s many valued architectural treasures were lost due to neglect or new development. These events galvanized preservationists to organize the nonprofit Old Island Restoration Foundation. Over the years, Old Island Restoration Foundation has raised and granted hundreds of thousands of dollars to maintain The Oldest House Museum and to award grants to restore historical buildings in Key West, including Old City Hall, The Custom House, The Martello Forts, The Key West Lighthouse, The Woman’s Club, several churches and more.
