Joe Garcia Joins Voters and Local Pastors for “Souls to the Polls”

Cutler Bay, FL— Today, former Congressman Joe Garcia joined voters and local pastors for the South East Dade Ministerial Alliance’s “Souls to the Polls” rally. Dozens of churchgoers were bussed to the South Dade Regional Library  for food, music and the last day of early voting in Miami Dade County. The Ministerial Alliance organized the rally to remind their members of the importance of electing good leaders who will serve the community.

“It’s inspiring to see our local pastors generate excitement around voting,” said Joe Garcia, candidate for Florida’s 26th Congressional District. “The South Dade community and local leaders understand that everyone needs to exercise their right to vote if they’re going to have a champion in government. I’m grateful that I could join the Alliance for this wonderful event and hope to continue serving this community in Washington.”

“I know Joe well and he is always ready and willing to work with us to solve problems in our community,” said Rev. Dr. Curtis Thomas of Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. “It’s one thing to show up for photo ops, but it’s another thing to attend our services and listen to the problems of everyday folks in order to find solutions. Joe was a true champion for South Dade in Washington and we want to send him back.”

Joe Garcia has received the endorsement of the Miami Herald and Miami Times.  He was known to be a fighter for his district, securing millions of dollars for job training in South Florida. Garcia also successfully cut college loan rates by half and voted over 20 times to protect and improve Obamacare for our families. He even secured $200 million dollars for Everglades restoration projects that improve South Florida’s long-term access to clean water.
