Joe Garcia Delivers Winning Performance During Kendall Candidates Forum

Kendall, FL- Tonight, during a candidate forum hosted by the Kendall Federation of Homeowner Associations, former Congressman Joe Garcia once again showed why he is the clear choice to represent the people of Florida’s 26th Congressional District. Garcia highlighted his achievements in Congress, like lowering student loan rates and saving homeowners thousands of dollars in flood insurance costs. Garcia also pledged to fight for more investments in transportation in order to alleviate traffic in the rapidly growing area.

“I’m always happy to speak directly to voters about the work we did for students, veterans, seniors and all members of our community,” said Joe Garcia, Candidate for Florida’s 26th Congressional District. “I grew up in a middle class neighborhood not far from Kendall so I am proud to have represented its values in Congress. My message tonight was clear: let’s work together to move South Florida forward.”

In Congress, Garcia helped pass a student loan assistance bill that prevented the doubling of federal student loan interest rates. Since then, student loan rates have dropped to their lowest point in 10 years. He defended Obamacare against Republican attacks and voted to protect families and small businesses during the transition into the new system. Garcia also helped pass bipartisan legislation to stop extreme hikes in flood insurance rates, saving South Florida homeowners thousands of dollars.

“Joe Garcia understands the issues facing this community, and his performance tonight reflected that,” said Javier Hernandez, spokesperson for the Garcia Campaign. “Although others love to use Republican lies to create scandals, Joe stands on his record of service to the people of South Florida. His performance tonight showed he has the understanding and experience to continue fighting for our families in Congress.”
