January 21, 2018 Women’s March Florida: “Power to the Polls” Women’s Day of Action

(Miami, Fla–Jan 11, 2018) On January 21, 2018, the one-year anniversary of the largest political protest in recent U.S. history, Women’s March Florida will lead a “Power to the Polls” event that will focus on expanding voter access and ending voter suppression, a crucial step towards meaningful change. We seek to register new voters, engage impacted communities, harness our collective energy to advocate for policies and candidates that reflect our values and collaborate with our partners to elect more women and progressives candidates to office. It will be a day filled with powerful speakers, community activists, performers and community vendors. As Floridians we acknowledge and understand the severe impact of climate change on our state and around the world; our Women’s Day of Action will bring awareness, support and donations to our nearby sister island communities that were affected this hurricane season; Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Florida Keys.
