Igualas Honored for 20 Years of Service

The Key West City Commission, during the November meeting, presented employee Bolivar Igualas with a plaque in appreciation of his 20 years of dedicated service to the City of Key West.

Igualas began his career with the City in 2003, hired as a maintenance worker in the public works department.  In 2004 he was promoted to a parking meter specialist, which was still a part of public works at that time. In November of 2005, after obtaining his CDL license, he was promoted to equipment operator and then promoted again to heavy equipment operator.

In 2008, Igualas moved out of the public works department and began his current position of Scale Tipping Floor Attendant in the Utilities Department. He is part of a two-man crew at the transfer station.

Human Resource’s Alice Parker, who presented the award, noted that Igualas and his crew member even work holidays to ensure the scale station stays open.

“I want to thank you for twenty years of working together,” said Igualas. “All of us in force make the City stronger.”
