ICYMI: Barack Obama and Joe Biden Endorse Joe Garcia

MIAMI, FL  — Last week, the leaders of the free world, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, announced their endorsements of Joe Garcia in his bid to retake his seat in Congress.

These endorsements come on the heels of a wave of support for Joe Garcia as he runs to take back his congressional seat in South Dade and Monroe County.

“I’m proud to endorse Joe Garcia for the United States House of Representatives,” said Barack Obama. “Over the last eight years, we’ve made tremendous strides towards making our nation safer, stronger, and fairer, but it’s clear that to continue this progress, we need to send more commonsense leaders like Joe back to Congress to get things done for the middle class. Joe is a champion for South Florida families and isn’t afraid to take on the tough fights, like defending a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions, protecting Social Security and Medicare, making sure we keep our sacred promises to our nation’s veterans and their families, and addressing the crushing burden of student loan debt felt by so many Florida students and families. Joe is the kind of tough and smart leader who will build on all we’ve accomplished and take our nation forward, and that’s why I know South Floridians can count on Joe Garcia.”

“Joe has a proven record of getting things done for South Florida families, and that’s why I am proud to support Joe Garcia for Congress,” said Joe Biden. “As a former Congressman, Joe fought to pass comprehensive immigration reform, make college more affordable, and protect access to health care for all.  Hardworking Floridians and their families can count on Joe to continue fighting for them in Congress and to keep moving Florida and our country forward.”

Early Voting kicked off in Florida and the White House is weighing into this competitive congressional race to remind people what is at stake in this election.

This administration has made tremendous progress for our nation in the past eight years.  Our economy is starting to turn around, we have made big strides for equal pay for equal work and 20 million more Americans have the healthcare they need and deserve,” said Joe Garcia, candidate for Florida’s 26th congressional district. “But our work is not done and we still have to go far to bring equality and opportunity to our people. I am committed to continuing the progress we’ve made under President Obama and Vice-President Biden.”

While Garcia was in Congress he worked closely with the White House to help take important actions for our country. Garcia was a strong advocate and worked with the administration on the executive orders for DAPA and DACA to keep immigrant families together. Garcia worked to lower the costs of student loans and helped improve Obamacare so that families in his district could afford and access their healthcare. While serving on the Natural Resources Committee, Garcia worked on environmental protections for South Florida and brought down hundreds of millions of dollars for everglades restoration and clean water projects.
