It is officially December, and although some grinches out there aren’t too jazzed about the influx of the holiday spirit, and all the baggage, tourists, and spending that comes with it, we couldn’t be more excited! So, to get more acclimated to the sudden cheer and festivities, we are here to provide readers with some activities to partake in this holiday season.

Key West Holiday Fest 2022 is something that all should be in the know about! They host activities that last through to New Year’s Eve, with fun for people of all ages. As said on their website, “From lighted parades on land and sea, to enchanting inn tours, to holiday themed burlesque shows and New Year’s Eve extravaganzas, there’s something wonderful for all ages happening here.”

Here are some highlights of what they have to offer. On December 3rd, at 7 PM, the Hometown Parade will kick off at Bayview Park, traveling along Truman Ave and Duval Street with floats and marching groups. The Nutcracker, produced bi-annually, will be brought to the stage in Key West at the Tennessee Williams Theatre from December 7th-December 11th, all at 7:30 PM. This year, 60 of the community’s children and adults and 15 professional dancers from around the world will produce the historical recreation of Key West’s version: Nutcracker Key West! The tradition is dazzling, unique, and sure to impress. On December 16th, from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM, children can visit Santa at the Shops at Mallory Square, at the Southernmost “North Pole”, located in the upstairs level of the historic shops. Letter writing stations and a mailbox will be available for the little ones to ensure that they get what they want this holiday season! And for the most exciting part of the season, the midnight toast, there will be an abundance of uniquely Key West New Year’s Eve Celebrations on December 31st, starting at 8:00 PM. Options range from the Conch Shell drop at Sloppy Joe’s, the world-famous Red High Heel Drop with Sushi the Drag Queen at the Bourbon Street Pub, the salty Key Lime Wedge in a Margarita Glass drop, and many more. You can’t go wrong in Key West on New Year’s Eve. These are just some highlights of the plethora of activities that the Holiday Fest Calendar of Events has to offer. Check out the whole listing here, which includes weekly holiday lights & sights tours!

As for Christmas dinner, we know that many tend to opt for a home cooked meal, but for those that would rather wine and dine outside their home, we have a couple of suggestions for the feast. Sun Sun – Casa Marina Key West is offering a Christmas Eve dinner menu with 5-courses, priced at $200 per person. They are also offering a Christmas Day brunch buffet, priced at $115 per person, and a Christmas Day dinner, priced at $200 per person. You can never go wrong with this menu, or its unique dining setting. Seven Fish is also offering a Christmas Eve menu, priced at $99 per person, with accommodating options for the whole family. Its never too late to start planning!

Happy Holidays everyone!
