HEALTH DEPARTMENT OFFERS NO COST  VACCINES FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN

Monroe County, Fla.— The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County wants to remind residents of the importance of scheduling routine vaccines, especially among children to provide immunity early in life to potentially life-threatening diseases.

The department offers vaccines to everyone of all ages. Children who meet program eligibility, age 0 to 18, can receive vaccines through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program at no cost to the parent/guardian.  

The department offers immunizations in three clinic sites by appointment only in Key West (1100 Simonton Street), Marathon (3333 Overseas Highway), and Tavernier (50 High Point Road). Recommended infant immunizations include hepatitis B, DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis), pneumococcal, poliovirus, flu, MMR (measles mumps, rubella), and more. Childhood immunizations include meningococcal, HPV, flu, Tdap, and more.
